From My Commonplace: On Being Worthy

"Unto which the Merlin smiled and said, 'Marvel not, my lord, if among all those who appear to be so extraordinarily worthy there shall not be found one who is worthy; and marvel not if, among all those who are unknown, there shall arise one who shall approve himself to be entirely worthy.'" (p.5)

~Howard Pyle, The Story of King Arthur and His Knights

*I am also reading Charlotte Mason's Volume 6 for a local CM book club, but these meetings are infrequent, and it is my third – or fourth? – pass through it and so I just read the brief section assigned as our meetings come up.

  1. Jen, what do you think of Paul for Everyone? Do you recommend?

    And what about Whose Body?

    1. I like Paul for Everyone so far - about halfway through Galatians. It has given me good food for thought. I like that it is meant as a *devotional* commentary - the entries for each Scripture section are short - only a couple pages. Wright is Anglican, so that is the theological perspective he is coming from, in case that is important to you.

I am enjoying Whose Body too. Mystery isn't my favorite book genre (although we watch a lot of mysteries on Netflix around here), so I thought I'd try Sayers for something different for my summer reading since they are recommended highly around AO circles. It's not my favorite book ever, but enjoyable and a nice change of pace.

    1. We love Pyle too. Robin Hood was my dd's favorite of Y2, and I'm excited about starting it with ds soon. I'm she will love King Arthur too, and specifically chose Pyle's because Robin Hood was so loved. (I commonplaced this while pre-reading.)
